The film Mensch Horst takes viewers inside the life of Horst Baitz, a member of the long-term unemployed who has recently been forced into early retirement. Horst’s everyday life is representative of the lives led by many people who live on the margins of society. Their stories too often remain untold.

Sara is 26 years old and has suffered from anorexia for eight years. She currently weighs 36 kilograms, but this is her highest weight in a very long time. Counting calories obsessively and weighing every food was an integral part of Sara’s life. After many years, due to her desire to start a family, she decided to start treatment in a closed institution.
