KATARZYNA FIGURA
A film and theatre actress. A graduate of the Acting Department at the National Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw (1985). She worked with Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw, Teatr Współczesny, Teatr Polonia, Teatr STU in Krakow. Since 2014 she has been a team member at Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdańsk. She teaches at the Gdynia Film School. She has played several dozens of film roles, such as Ga, ga. Chwała bohaterom (1985), directed by Piotr Szulkin; Kingsajz (1987), directed by Juliusz Machulski; Pociąg do Hollywood (1987), directed by Radosław Piwowarski; Porno (1989) directed by Marek Koterski; Gracz (1992) and Pret-a-Porter (1994) directed by Robert Altman; Kiler (1997) and Kiler-ów 2-óch (1999) directed by Juliusz Machulski; Autoportret z Kochanką (1996), directed by Radosław Piwowarski; Wrzeciono czasu (1995) and Słoneczny zegar (1997) directed by Andrzej Kondratiuk, Historie miłosne (1997) directed by Jerzy Stuhr; Złoto dezerterów (1998) directed by Janusz Majewski,; Ajlawju (1999), directed by Marek Koterski (Golden Lions Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for the Actress in a Leading Role); Zemsta (2002), directed by Andrzej Wajda; The Pianist (2002), directed by Roman Polański; Ubu Król directed by Piotr Szulkin (Golden Lions Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for the Actress in a Leading Role); Żurek (2003), directed by Ryszard Brylski (Polish Film Award – Eagle for Best Female Leading Role); Aria Diva (2007) directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska; Panie Dulskie (2015), directed by Filip Bajon; 7 uczuć (2018), directed by Marek Koterski; Never Gonna Snow Again (2020) directed by Małgorzata Szumowska; Chrzciny (2021), directed by Jakub Skoczeń. She is a two-time winner of the Złota Kaczka Award (in 1988 and 1998) for the best actress. She has also received many other acting awards and distinctions.
